Any news on the new CD?

Postby MGD King » Mon Jul 20, 2009 6:33 pm

Just wondering if there's been anything new to report regarding the new CD. Seems like we haven't heard much lately about it.
What am I listening to when I'm not tuned into DementiaRadio.com?

Since my secret source cannot be revelead, because if I do it, I'll most likely die (??), I come here with some news, translated from german =)

Someone asked somewhere on the internet if there was any news from the new cd, and yes, there is:

"Hey, yeees, there are! It will be soooo amazing!!!!! The lyrics are great as usual! how brilliant stories Andy has created ;-) Andy will go in the studio next month, Andreas was already there. It will appear in spring but it's worth waiting for it. Greetings from Kaiserslautern!"

Thats all I've got

So, till next year :)

No news yet :S
BUT! I have news with 2 month of delay, sorry. (I've been very bussy latelly)

So, how the new VP album's going?

There are news! It will be so amazing! The lyrics are great as usual! how brilliant stories Andy has created. Andy will go in the studio next month, Andreas was already there. It will appear in spring but it's worth waiting for it. Greetings from Kaiserslautern

This is one month old news, after the show today in Völkingen from Vp was cancelled:
"But look forward to VP on the Betze (football stadion in Kaiserslautern) - and on the doozy Release party from the - hey I know - the best VP album of all times! The "clockmaker" will kick you!!!! "

So, as far as I know, the new album will be: The Clockmaker.
Cheers!

So for the people who was asking what this CD is about (considering is thematic), here I have some sneak peek from a Magazine:

The music reminds a bit of Pink Floyd. With the luxury problem to have writen 12 songs from which the team-minded Vanden Plas has chosen 12 best (here's a little inconsistence in content, dunno, it seems to be not the only mistake in this magazine) but only 8 can actually appear on the CD."

And the plot: "The new plot along general lines: 16th century, a watchmaker sees a apocalyptic vision. To avert the threatening apocalypse the watchmaker constructs a time machine who allows to get back to the roots and redress the balance / straighten out one's life. "

"These are the big themes like the sens of life and death, transcendence and spirituality, guilt, vengeance, forgiveness and expiation who challenge Andy. Love as silver bullet"

"The time travel of the watchmaker"

And for those eager to for a DVD of VP, yes, there will a Christ0 DVD of the play.

Ehhrrrm... That I dunno, but I think we're screwed with that... haha!
Actually, because I wasn't able to watch my Abydos and Ludus Danielis DVD in colors in DVD Player, I bought one that could! Now I have a DVD that support Pal and NTSC =)

(else, watch it in the computer :? )

You don't need an NTSC disc, just a player that can handle a PAL to NTSC conversion. For around $120, you can get a Pioneer DV-610 which handles Pal to NTSC conversion as well as upscaling to 1080P. For about $30-$60 more, you can get an Oppo DV-981H or DV-980H on Ebay (they are no longer in production) and with a simple remote hack can be made region free. The Oppo Digital are a little more videophile (DV-981H) and audiophile (DV-980H) quality but the Pioneer shouldn't be shabby by any means.
B&H video carries the Pioneer. They also have used products from time to time as well. Personally, I am going to buy the Oppo DV-980H with my tax return. It will probably be the last standard definition player I will buy, but it's SACD/DVD-audio reproduction also make it a nice selling point for me.

The New CD of Vanden Plas
will be called "The Seraphic Clockwork", and will be available for

More info on the new album =)

The new Vanden Plas album "The Seraphic Clockwork" will be released on 04 June 2010 by Frontiers Records. The 8 songs were recorded at Bazement Studio by engineer Markus Teske and produced by the band.

The story of the concept album was written by Andy Kuntz and tells about a journey in time. The protagonist, who lives in 16th century Rome, comes under the spell of an Old Testament prophecy. He travels back to Jerusalem in the year 33 anno Domini where he must face his God-given destiny.

Stephan Lill about the new album: "I think that my preference for heavier bands shines through more than ever before. Heavy riffs, elaborate keyboard and orchestra arrangements plus catchy hook lines come together in a perfect symbiosis which marks Vanden Plas' characteristic style. I feel that we were much more adventurous on The Seraphic Clockwork than ever before."
